Now that the lambs are born, marked and out of the stable, our attention turns again to the horses. And since I already know something about them, I thought I´d test your knowledge in a fun little quiz below. I am just that charming!
Mother and daughter above, can you tell?
Above, you see two of my nephews displaying their talents. Too bad we don´t have a circus in this country.
p.s since the quiz does not seem to be working here, I guess you´ll have to come over to MY SITE. For those of you who do not like to click links and be transfered to other pages, I hope you enjoy these:
Q) How long should a horse’s legs be?
A) Long enough to reach the ground.
*****
Q) When do vampires like horse racing?
A) When it’s neck and neck.
*****
Q) What did one horse say to the other horse?
A) The pace is familiar but I can’t remember the mane.
*****
My nephew Smari starting to make first contact with the horse that is going to be his. Under the watchful eyes of family and dogs, of course!

Comment by snuppy Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 8:04amI think horses prefer satire. Neat photo. Icelandic horses sure look different in the summer.
Comment by Doug Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 8:53amI don’t get it… Iceland has so much wide open sky, yet they build the horses as close to the ground as possible?
Comment by I Dive At Night Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 9:25amQ: Which breed of horse can jump higher than a house?
A: All of them. Houses can’t jump.
Thanks, Penguin, for emboldening me (that is to say, sufficiently lowering the bar) to offer that joke.

Ha! Works for everything!
Comment by al Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 10:04amHere’s another one:
Q: What disease do horses fear most?
A: Hay Fever!
Hope that’s not too lame, because there’s nothing worse than a lame horse….joke. Are those your nephews? They look so cute perched up on top of the horses.
Comment by Theresa Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 10:52amcheering pictures!
Comment by ariel Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 10:58amOh, my, the, um, jokes…
The boys and horses are lovely, though.
Comment by Nessa Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 12:04pmsnuppy, i am a sucker for these types of jokes, but then my daily company involves 4-8 year olds
Doug, yeah they lose all the winter coat and become really smooth.
Morgan, that is so sizeist! *pouts*
Al, well done, sometimes it is ok to lower your level to enjoy jokes on teh simplest of scales. An eays joke and a smile on your face, tells that the child within you can still be amused! And thanks for the many, many humor-blogs links
Theresa, those would be two of them, yes. I am very proud, tehy are reckless and I am always equipped with a first aid kid. WE make a good team
I liked you joke, I am simple like that!
ariel, cheering? I am glad. I thought reckless was the word, but hey!
Nessa, almost killed you there, didn´t I? I have a weird sense of humor. I am German…it is hard to accomplish. I am glad my nephews saved the day for me
It´s about time, too! Usually the other way around!
Comment by Penguin Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 12:58pmSorry I couldn’t get over here sooner to partake in the horsing around. Haha, that’s my lame attempt at horse humor. Adorable (Al, this is the place New Yorkers use the word). The boys and the horses seem to be enjoying each other.
I really wish I had a good horse joke to insert here, but I’ll have to satisfy myself by going to see your quiz. Cute post dear Penguin.
Comment by Lampsha Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 1:45pmAl: hah! apparently you made SEVERAL attempts to get comments in here — so sorry the spam catcher grabbed them on their way in (and sandwiched you inbetween “teen porn” and “Pregnant Japanese Lesbians”!) if you like, i’ll delete a few, but i figured i’d let them see the “light” of day for a second or two before taking them out, completely!

Comment by snuppy Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 2:16pmwow…what´s going on here…Al´s all over the place…my head is spinning!
Anywho…I would just like to say that I am sorry for this lame post today…I thought it would be fun if we would have a quiz like post. And it sorta is…it doesn´t work in wordpress however, it hardly works on my blog, teh pictures keep clinging together…it´s been a tough day. Thanks for checking in anyway. I appreciate that! Next week…some volcanic eruption pictures and education. Stay tuned!
Comment by Penguin Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 3:29pmJeez! SPAM catcher!
Delete ‘em all, Snuppy. What the hell.
Comment by al Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 5:20pmMy favorite horse is Mr. Ed.
Comment by BoBo Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 5:24pmYOU, my darling Penguin, are a sneaky one! changing up the pictures like that… clever my friend, very clever! actually, maybe you did that a long time ago, and i missed it because i’ve been out for the past few hours, but still — lovelovelove the newest pics i see here. even when you think you’ve done a sub-standard post, it looks fantastic and turns out to be a grand read!! *claps*
Al: really? delete them all?? awwwwww — it’ll take the comments down from, like, 24 to, what? 12? do you really want to do that to our Penguin??

Comment by snuppy Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 5:39pmGet rid of the first, oh, forty or so.
Mine is a voice which must be heard!
But, not so much…
(wordpress never told me it was holding my comments for review. friggin’ internet.)
Comment by Al Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 5:45pmAl: YOURS is a voice we never tire of hearing. that said, i’ll go in rightthisminute and delete most of your comments!

Comment by snuppy Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 5:53pmThanks, Snuppy. That’ll make me feel a lot less stupid.
For a while there, I was First!
Comment by Al Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 6:16pmAnd, Last.
and, just about everywhere in between.
Al, what did you do, dude? Index finger epelepsy?:)
Bobo, sure…we can talk about that, too
Snuppy, well…if not content, i figured that at least aestetics should come into play
Al, hold your tongue! Now pull it out as far as you can and let go…see? Got your own sling shot!
snuppy, if i knew how to do it, i could help…it would save us a couple of hours
AL, it was you ten minutes of fame, ey? had to end sometime!
Comment by Penguin Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 6:24pmAl: and now I feel stupid, because i really wanted to leave your first comment in. d’oh! sorry about that, but hey, at least you don’t look like a funny guy with a bad case of redundancy and/or Tourette’s.
xox
sorry, Penguin, Al made me do it. i mean, that guy has a camera and a gun, and he’s not afraid to use either!

Comment by snuppy Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 7:27pmsnuppy, I was laughing at Al for leaving too many comments (hence the index finger epelepsy!) NOt you, deleting them.
Comment by Penguin Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 7:38pmI would have done it myself…would I know how:)
Penguin: in the dashboard is a section that says “comments” (when you’re logged on) — you can delete (or EDIT) there, or straight from the comment section. but you have to be logged in to the Snark.
as for your “index finger epilepsy” line? heh heh… i figured as much — today’s Al’s day to catch a little grief from us all, i think! good thing he has a grand sense of humor, otherwise we might actually have to worry about that camera and/OR that gun!

Comment by snuppy Wednesday, 6 June 2007 @ 7:43pmPenguin, for a second there I thought that was Climber standing on the back of that horse.
Comment by Zoning Out Again Thursday, 7 June 2007 @ 1:07amGreat post. Cute horses. Cute Kiddos!
snuppy, he´s so tough to get to, so once we have him…we milk it for everything it´s worth.
ZOA, in your little obsessed mind, I can see how you immediately pictured Climber and I bet he could do it too
But this is my nephew, his name is Omar and I failed as an aunt in regards to teaching him about the hardness of the ground
Comment by Penguin Thursday, 7 June 2007 @ 6:51amWhat breed of horse is this? Or are they actually ponies? Oh well who cares -they sure are cute!
Comment by Claire Thursday, 7 June 2007 @ 5:01pmClaire…They are icelandic horses. They come in this size and only this size. It´s not a Shetland pony!
It is strange but I hardly notice teh size anymore when it comes to icelandic horses…
