bunnies on autumn riverHERE’S hoping November is as delightful for all of you as October was suck for some of us. Guessing we should be entertaining you with a tale or two of hospital room battles (the bruises will heal in all good time) and/or cross-country missed flight connections (damn those gate attendants in Dallas!) but, on the heels of a particularly lovely-yet-heart wrenching memorial for someone we loved so very much, we find ourselves only able to offer up a sweet picture that is meant to represent a hopefully tranquil autumn month (click on the image to see a larger version). And, yes, there may be a touch of “symbolism” in this particular piece of artwork, but that’s beside the point. The point, which we had before noisily blowing it into our last wad of soggy tissue this past Sunday, is that we really really hope today marks the beginning of an emotional upturn, for us, for those we love, and yes, even for those we don’t. An upturn, we hasten to add, that lasts longer than the crummy box of Kleenex some girl named Shandi handed us, in hopes we could manage to blow our nose a time or two, and which we promptly used up in less time than it took to say “a little snot never hurt anyone“.

THAT said, and moving right along… the wonderful artists responsible for the above whimsical/magical image, also inspired a pretty fanciful Rabbit, Rabbit laden commercial, which we’ve deemed fit for your perusal. Seriously, it’s just all kinds of charming, something we’re in sore need of, today. You can read more about the artists (who are “famous” for a little something called “Bunnyfish“) HERE, should any of you feel so inclined. Otherwise, be on your way, and come back tomorrow, when Diesel asks the musical question: Dennis, what the hell is that thing hovering over your head? Besides your wife, I mean?

S’not like you’ll need tissues to read Humor-blogs.com.

yeah yeah — not a great offering right outta the gate, but what’d ya expect? oh, wait, i know… you expected more hilarity like the wonderful stuff you’ve been finding here over the past few weeks! well that’s a thing of the past, dear friends. i’m back, and with luck (and my partners’ permission) i plan to be blogging on a more semi-regular basis, just like the “old” days, BEFORE my son’s Unfortunate Accident and/or the loss of one of the most important people in my life. (sorry, i haven’t quite recovered from the events of this past month & i’m afraid i couldn’t help but slip in a serious note — i’ll try not to let it happen again. that said, i’m making NO promises…)

anyway — the young and masterful Diesel DID write a completely hilarious post for today tomorrow, so hopefully you’ll all get yer asses back here in order to enjoy that, then.

Let’s try again – a perfectly lovely comment just got dumped.

Rabbit, rabbit NBFF! Welcome back. I can’t imagine a more perfect post to come back to. I just about wept at the site of you back (not your post which again, was perfect). We’ve all missed you so. I think largely in part because we knew you were not off on a relaxing vacation but saying goodbye to someone that you loved dearly and worrying/helping Andy through his ordeal.

Remember – “baby steps Bob.” We’re all here should you not feel/care/want to post, so take your time getting back into it.

Love you and missed you and glad to see you back. XOX

Rabbit, rabbit! Great video.

Welcome back, Snup! Afraid I twasn’t much help holding the fort down around here…I’ll try and step it up a bit. Glad you’ve made a Snark appearance at any rate…hang in there πŸ™‚

Comment by CrummyJoel

Yeah….there you are, sniffling and all. WE take you any way we can get you.

I loved today’s video, look at all them colorful rabbit multiplying! A decent November to us all!

welcome back, this place sure missed you, but the people in it behaved it appears, we tiedied up before you came back and now we sit there fidgetting on the sofa, try very hard to interpret invisible stops and can’t help wondering if there is something we could do for you…

Comment by Penguin

Something very comforting about seeing you back here Snup. Rabbit, Rabbit…here’s to a great November!

Comment by BoBo

er…um… should we leave up Diesel’s other post, or shall i “hang” on to it until tomorrow?

d’oh! (i’m going to do it the minute i finish typing this comment… unless i’m told to do otherwise. surely we can wait to read his funny words until Friday — in lieu of a “Sex, Ed?” post — Shirley!) πŸ˜‰

oh yeah — and THANKS to all of you for helping me get through these past couple of weeks — your kindnesses and/or wonderful posts meant more to me than my words can ever possibly convey!

Comment by snuppy

Put on ice until tomorrow. I saw that and was going to do the same. That Diesel. πŸ™‚

Comment by Lampsha

Oh, but heh hehe – thanks Diesel for coming through even though you didn’t need to come through on such short notice. You’re the man. Oh yeah.

And CrummyJoel, you stepped up quite a bit with a guaranteed funny weekly post. We couldn’t have asked for more. Well actually we could have if you hadn’t changed your email with no forwarding info.

Comment by Lampsha

also: in “hanging on” to Diesel’s post for another day, did i just forgo the opportunity to slip this post onto Humor-blogs.com? inquiring minds — unhappy with our current h-b.c ranking — need to know!! πŸ˜‰

Rabbit, rabbit. Welcome back Snuppy. I really hope November is a much better month for you. Loved the rabbit commercial, I have to show that one to my kids. πŸ™‚

Comment by Theresa

Hey – welcome back! Sure missed you around these parts (not that your cohorts aren’t fine snarkers themselves) but I DO miss your particular charm, wit and general style of writing. Hope all is getting better quickly and STAY that way!

Comment by Jeff

Snuppy – it is GOOD to see the puppy back. THAT video is a masterpiece – although it has some suspicious similarities to a certain bunch of bouncing superballs… the Stones’ music and the entire experience is fabulous! RABBIT RABBIT, and may the best of luck be with you as you watch from the overlook, the rushing river of life going forward. You’ve had more of a larger portion of tough times than is reasonable this year, so hop to it. Your teammates have rallied heroically as well – great stuff always over here at Central Snark.

Comment by Terry

My heart did a little cheer when I saw you here! Welcome home. Very sorry for your troubles, but so glad you are back.

The video is so uplifting. It should be required watching for people when they’re down.

Rabbit rabbit friend.

Rabbit, rabbit. And I have this note from Edsel Murphy that he’s going to take his Law firm out of the Tri-State area and practice in Boston for awhile. Something about giving Tom Brady a case of amnesia … so that Boston sport fans can get a taste of how the rest of us live.

Hang in …

I’ve always had hair envy, but this is absolute extreme hare envy–what an awesome video!! Good scoping.

It’s great to hear your “voice” again, and though I don’t know all that you’ve been through, I hope November is an upturn–rabbit, rabbit:)

Comment by actonbell

I just got to watch the video now – how perfect a way to start November – love the colors/love the song. Terry, you are right! But I guess beccause they’re advertising the same product πŸ˜‰

Comment by Lampsha

Why, it seems everyone is redecorating at the moment!

Your new surroundings are much to my liking. Good work all round!

Comment by Lord Likely

So glad to ‘see’ you back in good form. I am so totally wishing for November to be peaceful and pleasant for you and your family.

Lampsha: they broke the NBFF mold after making you, my friend! thank you for those kind words — as well as for doing such a perfectly splendid job taking over around here. thinkin’ you really DON’T need me, but it’s nice to know i’ve been missed. and, yeah, last month was “difficult”, to say the least, and i’m not even close to being done grieving for the loss of my brother-in-law — he was such a remarkable man. but it warms my heart to have such friends, and i appreciate knowing i can “take my time” getting back into the Snark of things — for it may, indeed, take a while. xox

AP3: Rabbit, rabbit! to you, too! glad you liked the video, i thought it was pretty sweet, despite the fact it was just a “crummy commercial”! πŸ˜‰

Crummy Joel: you kiddin’ me? dude, you’re the man. maybe not the only man, but the “man”, nonetheless. seriously, your posts have been brilliant, as per usual. (i’ve ordered 5 copies of your book, thus far, and will do my best to pimp promote it in the future). THANK YOU, friend, for everything! xox

Penguin: awww — thank you my dear and sweet friend. i believe you kids DID take good care of things while i was “away” — and i have to say the place looks great! (tho’ i find myself missing Uma’s face, from time to time…) i still have a lot of catching up to do, but from what i can tell, the posts were nothing short of spectacular! thank you thank you thank you for helping in such a supportive, wonderful, and meaningful way. oh, and for making me laugh, more times than not! xox

BoBo: i would NEVER have made it through any of this, had it not been for you. here’s hoping this month is more joyous and peaceful for the both of us. xox

Theresa: thank you, my friend. even MY kids enjoyed this video, and that’s saying something! πŸ™‚

Jeff: thank you, kind sir. i’ve missed you, too! thinking i have a LOT to catch up on, and will do my best to do just that, ASAP. we’ll take this month “One day at a Time”, and hope for the best… πŸ˜‰

Terry: sweet and lovely friend — you, too, have been through the wringers over the past few months. so thank you for your wonderful words of support — truly, i am humbled by all this attention. my son will be okay — i just hope and pray my beautiful sister will be one day, as well. (she will, but this is going to take a lot of time). xox

TLP: who woulda thunk a commercial could be so good? surely not me, Shirley. and thank you, sister/girlfriend, from the bottom of my heart for ALL your words of love and support. i’m happy to be “back”, too! xox

O’C: nothing like a couple of World Series Pennants to erase 87 years of “funk”, eh? and Yay for the Red Sox! Rabbit, rabbit! πŸ˜‰

Actonbell: “hare envy”? heh heh. good one! thanks for your kind and sweet words… i’ll probably try to fill everyone in on what happened over this past month down the road, suffice to say it hasn’t been much fun. oy. xox

Lampsha: so glad you enjoyed that! i agree, it’s pretty damn special (even if it is a bit familiar). Rabbit, Rabbit, dearest NBFF! xox

Lord Likely: i know! i go away for a couple of weeks and come back to find a whole new — and improved — Snark Park. (again, i personally loveloveloved the old template, but this one is less “girlie”, and as such, more apropos for the “direction” it seems to be heading). we don’t fear change, we embrace it. glad you do, too! πŸ˜‰

Claire: thank you so very much! i believe i shall wish you the same, my friend, in hopes you and yours will know peace and health throughout this month, and well into the next year! πŸ™‚
