crazy assed catOH how we wish we had the time to search The Interweb for something clever and/or Musically Opposite, in order to offer up something worthy of a giggle and/or a few Cheap Laughs* to our own swell (at least we thought it was swell) Saturday Spin. Alas and/or alack, we have neither the time — nor the inclination — to do that, for not only are we compelled to drag our crutch totin’ son to physical therapy this morning, but later, we also have to go pick up our ailing/aged cat, who’s been sucking up what’s left of our retirement fund, after enjoying a prolonged stay in the “kitty hospital”.

BE that as it may, the following video, while certainly amusing, also happens to appeal to our kinder/gentler side. That said, don’t get used to all this “kinder/gentler” crap content because we’re pretty sure it’s just about time to put the bite back in the Snark, and intend to do just that, ASAP. Assuming all goes well, the One, the Only, the Never Crummy CRUMMYJOEL will be sure to write nothing short of a crummily fantastic (as opposed to a fantastically crummy, we suppose) post for tomorrow! (you will have a post, won’t you…CrummyJoel??) And then, unless we miss our guess, TEH PENGUIN will be cracking us up with her own Icelandic brand of humor, on Wednesday. After that, all bets and/or efforts to hold back from being stupid will be off. And by “off” we don’t know what we mean, but we plan to figure it out by Thursday. For now, just wake up and smell the… kitty.

YES, we, too, are grateful we managed to resist calling this post “The Cat with the Bat“, tho’ we confess our punny side thought it would be hilarious. Also, in case some of you are curious, you can see more works by the artist responsible for this quirky cartoon (Simon Tofield), along with fun stuff by other talented British animators HERE.

*Musical Opposites for the sake of Cheap Laughs was a stupid franchise we coughed up after LAMPSHA did her first winning Saturday Spin. Be glad we took the time to share the above video today — for a nano-second, we considered hooking you up with our original MOCL, which was brilliantly titled CHEAP TRILLS, if only to remind everyone of the “quality” fodder that can be found on this blog on any given day.

this post has all the earmarks of being a “private joke”, in that the cat at the top of the page looks exactly like Fuzzy Butt, our own beloved ailing kitty. on top of that (heh), “back in the day” (when i was kind of “homeless”) i lived with my sister (the beloved Dr. Terri) and her husband (the also beloved Dr. Bill), and slept in their spare room, which, prior to my arrival, had been the domain of their Persian kitty, Fanny. i SWEAR that cat used to wake me up like the cat tried to wake up that guy in the video, every morning. well, except for the bat part, i suppose. but the “kneading”/purring/nipping/poking part? definitely. that Fanny… she was just all kinds of swell. πŸ˜‰

Love that! Our own 20-year old kitty, who is living proof that the notion of nine lives is no myth but instead gospel truth, uses relentless stalking and staring as his weapons of choice…those eyes, that squeaky meow…he will not be ignored.

BoBo: i thought you’d like that video! not unlike the way Fuzzy used to hop on/torment you when you’d be sitting on the couch, before his last illness rendered him unable to jump. (poor baby) and yeah, his bag is full o’ tricks, and, like you, i’m convinced they’re the reason he’s managed to live so well for so long! (here’s hoping we get to enjoy his company a bit longer, eh?) πŸ™‚

Great cartoon. I bet Actonbell will like it too.

That is why we put our kitties in the kitchen at night. πŸ™‚

What? Cats? On Doug’s 40th birthday? Gimme a DOG!

Walela: i’m hoping she’ll have a chance to see it,
‘cuz i think she’ll like it, too. now, is it just me, or have i forgotten something today…? πŸ™„

Theresa: good thinking. altho’, there’s nothing quite like a cuddly kitten to soothe the frazzled nerves. unless it’s a puppy, that is. πŸ˜‰

TLP: aieeeeeeee! aieeeeeeee! aieeeeeeeee! yoiks, how did i forget that? yeesh, i knew it was coming up, i just thought it was a bit later in the month. what can i say? AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! 😯

I saw this the other day while playing on Youtube…having a wonderufl discussion with HotGuy37…when I stumbled upon this and was reminded of how cats can be. That being said I am baby-sitting two cats next weekend. So help me God!

Oh, I love that video! And yes, it strikes a familiar chord; Serena does the water-torture meow very well. meow. meow. meow. meow. meow. meow. meow.
meow. meow. meow. meow. meow. meow. meow. meow.
STARE.meow. meow. meow. meow. meow. meow.

Penguin: Matt (he’s not going by HotGuy37 these days, is he? heh heh) actually sent me the link to this last week, and i, too, thought it was a hoot! babysitting cats?? sounds interesting. (laughing, because your bird is SO gonna think you’ve betrayed her!) πŸ˜‰

Actonbell: i’ve always suspected that behavior was innate — guessing i’m right… especially the stare part! sounds like Serena has you right where she wants you, girlfriend (and vice versa) πŸ™‚
